Custom Field Names & Output Sequence

It is possible to alter the field sequence in the exported file if the Export Option is set to <Create/Replace> the export dataset. This option is not applicable for Append or Update options.

If the option is available, the <Change Dest Flds> button will be visible and active.

CHANGING FIELD OUTPUT SEQUENCE

Clicking the <Change Dest Flds> button will display all fields using a default sequence set:

CustNameSeq2

There are two ways in which the output sequence of any field can be altered. The first is by changing the seqence number to be the field number that this field will <preceed>. A field is never placed AFTER another field when re-sequencing. Simply drop down the seqence field list numbers for the field you want to put this field to precede. For exampl, if you want to change the Email1SMTP field which is initially the first field in the sequence, you would select field #4 as it's new location. The fields are then re-sequenced and Email1SMTP will become #3 in the sequence.

An alternative approach to re-sequencing fields is by using a "Drag 'n Drop approach. Select a field with the yellow column and drag it to the location where you want it to be placed by putting it on TOP of the field the you want it to precede.

Fields may be added and deleted at any point in time. All new fields added after fields have been sequenced, will be added at the end of the list with a number less then 9999. Any fields deleted which have been sequenced will simply be deleted from the list. You can re-sequence fields as many times as necessary. The sequence structure always remains static from the previous session.
