Custom form fields

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

User-defined fields created via custom form design are associated with the custom form and are not shown  in the <User-defined fields in folder> or directly with the contact item.

When opening a contact item created with custom form, the user-defined fields can be viewed under the <User-defined fields in this item> list but are not listed under the <User-defined fields in folder>

Notes:

1.New user-defined fields should never be added to a contact associated with a custom form since this will create a one-off entry. New fields should always be added by updating the custom form definition and republishing it.

2.If the message class is changed for the contact item (no or new custom form assigned), the data for all user-defined fields associated with the original custom form will no longer be accessible. UDF information for a custom form can only be retrieved for an item when the item is associated with the form (Message Class = Custom Form Name)
